General Manager, Lisa, shares a laugh with the staff
It is a week for celebrations at Tiger Lily. Yesterday, our General Manager, Lisa, celebrated her '29th' birthday and was surprised with a cake and a song!

Today we're celebrating one of the largest workplace observances,  Professional Administrative Day, known by many as Secretaries Day. Orders have been coming in all week for arrangements in gratitude of administrative assistants all over the Charleston area.

Dr. Kendra Stewart of the College of Charleston

Dr. Kendra Stewart, Director of the Riley Center at College of Charleston, visited the store this morning to order a bouquet for her the Administrative Assistant of the center, Maura Miller. Why does Dr. Stewart appreciate Ms. Miller so much? "She's always willing to do anything I need her to do, she goes the extra mile", she says with a smile.

Happy Professional Administrative Day from Tiger Lily Florist!

Tiger Lily Participates in Gourmet and Grapes

Gourmet and Grapes takes place at the beautiful Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort and is their major charitable event for the year. Tiger Lily has been the exclusive floral designer for the resort since it opened in 2004. We are pleased to be able to participate in such a great event each year by donating arrangements for the weekend.

Tiger Lily is proud to be a part the charitable weekend, Gourmet and Grapes on May 4th-6th. The event, which raises funds and awareness for the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, involves a three day series of lunches and dinners prepared by acclaimed chefs and and accompanied by award winning wines. The MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute designated cancer center in South Carolina, and a leading cancer treatment and research center.

For more information and tickets to this magical beach event you can visit the resorts Gourmet and Grapes website at: http://www.kiawahresort.com/gourmet-and-grapes-weekend/

Being the largest florist in South Carolina, we produce a lot of waste. As we are never finished finding a better way to do things, what is the best thing to do with it? Recycle it, of course. This pile of flowers and cuttings looks like garbage, but it is picked up on a weekly basis and turned into a Grade A mulch to be used by home owners all over the Charleston area. What used to go in a landfill, is now filling the best gardens in Charleston.

The mulch to be stands in contrast with this beautiful shipment of  Asiatic Lilies we received today. These Asiatic Lilies will be blooming in the lobbies of The Double Tree Hotel and The Francis Marion Hotel downtown, and The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.

Mr. LeVan is a regular because, "Flowers keep my wife happy."
Why does Justin buy his wife flowers? "Its Monday!"

We joined two smart men on Monday, Jay and Justin, as they picked out bouquets for their wives, with the expert help of Lisa Jackson, General Manager here at Tiger Lily Florist. Her eye for design helped these two make some beautiful bouquets. Jay is a regular here and when asked why he chooses Tiger Lily Florist he replied, "The wonderful selection, the price, and the friendly attitude."

Bennie and Beth

There was a lot going on Easter Sunday at Tiger Lily! Daily designer, Beth, created numerous arrangements of all shapes and sizes. She is pictured above with one of her colorful creations, and delivery master extraordinaire, Bennie. He delivered the Easter arrangements all over the Charleston area, including "The Cathedral", and seems to know almost every one here. In fact, he was honked and waved at three times this morning when he was outside watering the flowers, and he was spotted at the Family Circle Cup Sunday, seated with Venus and Serena Williams's father!

CONGRATULATIONS to our floral design intern, Stephanie on winning the City Paper's Best of Charleston Award! Stephanie decorated centerpieces and table arrangements to add flavor to the Best of Charleston banquet!

We here at Tiger Lily are SO proud of her! Way to go Stephanie!

We are proud to carry Pathway art cards! Carl Ealy creates these beautiful images and Philip Martz writes the poetry. We have been partners with Pathway art cards for over ten years now! In fact, we were the first store in Charleston to carry their cards! It has been great to grow with them and experience their success first-hand. Carl and Philip now sell their cards all over the Southeast. Still, whenever they are in town they ask us about ideas of images and messages and SHAZAM! a week or two later, a greeting card masterpiece is created!

Look for a feature of Pathway art cards as an online upgrade in the upcoming weeks. This is a FIRST for both Tiger Lily and Pathway! We are very excited about including their award-winning cards to our award-winning designs!
